The Langtang valley is aptly called
‘the valley of glaciers’. Here, mountain rise,
soaring towards the sky. The valley offers pine
forest, swift mountain streams, rugged rock and
snowcapped peaks, grassy downs and meadows strewn
with daisies and wild primal. A variety of sights
including Buddhist monasteries, a cheese factory,
yaks, glaciers and mountain lakes make this trek an

one of the holiest lake in Nepal,
where thousands of pilgrims throng each August to
bathe in its cold and spiritually refreshing water.
One hour drive brings the trekkers to Sundarijal,
the starting point of this trek, where there are
sparkling waterfalls flowing down through an oak
forest. This trek offers the experience of being in
a typical Sherpa village and many ancient
monasteries. It is a golden chance to learn about
life in our villages. The trek ends at Melamchipul
Bazar on the banks of Indravati River. |

A trek up into the Langtang valley has to be one of
the most rewarding of the short treks available
anywhere in Nepal. The east west running valley is
the site of some spectacular alpine scenery as well
as being a great place to meet a distinctive people. |

Helambu Trek |

: A relatively low altitude trek, the Helambu
circuit is one of the most well located of the short
treks close to Kathmandu. While most of the trek is
at low altitude below 3000m, the high point at
Tharepati La pass is 3600m and can experience snow
even during the main trekking seasons. |

: We follow a rugged trail with dramatic
views; to the west Himal chuli (7893m) Manaslu
(8156mm) and Ganesh Himal (7406m). On a clear day,
even the Annapurna range can be seen rising up
behind and to the north across the valley is
Langtang Lirung. We pass a few huts in the high
picture of Laurebina, cross a small ridge and have
