Upper Mustang Trek

  • Upper Mustang Trek

Overview

The Upper Mustang trek (popularly called the Mustang trek), is a far-flung visit to the hidden paradise of the Tibetan region on the opposite side of Nepalese Himalaya bordering with Tibet. The fundamental highlights of Mustang trekking are old Tibetan villages, medieval Buddhist arts, the exotic culture and the remarkable magnificence of the Himalayan desert. This beautiful and isolated former called Forbidden Kingdom is known as a land where your soul feels as real as your feet where you walk on; a land which is said as barren as a dead dear, but therein glows beauty despite the adversity. This ancient caravan trade route to Tibet offers a complete package of adventure, sceneries and unique experience of your lifetime.

The motive behind upper mustang trek is Lo Manthang, the ancient capital of Mustang. The journey follows the route through which people would trade salt for grains from the valley. Our trip includes trekking across the desert land, passing by the reddish rocks and cliffs and several monasteries. We wander around thebeauty of the royal palace, monasteries built in the 15th century, and century old caves as well as the Amchi museum.

The easiest route to Mustang is from Jomsom which involves driving to Pokhara and flight to Jomsom from where the trek begins.During the trek, you can enjoy the view of the Kaligandaki gorge along with the gorgeous beauty of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna and several other mountains which make your trek spectacularly adventurous and successful providing you with a lifetime experience.Mustang is one of those few places in the planet that has been completely isolated from the normal world and,as of not long ago, was a prohibited land for travelers i.e. till 1992.This remoteness and separation contributed the general population of Mustang to ration their way of life and social legacy that remained practically unaffected for quite a long time.

Concealed behind the high Himalayas, Mustang is bestowed with beautiful trekking zones. The high desert rain shadow of Himalayas receives very little rainfall making this region dry and parched, similar to the bordering Tibetan Plateau. June, July and August are favorably the best months to visit around Mustang. We offer a perfect trekking course for you within reasonable finance and vow to make your trip entirely fascinating and enjoyable visiting across the deserted kingdom of Mustang.
