The Ghorepani-Poonhill Trek, often referred to as the Rhododendron Trek, is one of the most approachable treks in Nepal. This remarkable journey takes you through some of the most beautiful rhododendron forests in the country. Poonhill, at an elevation of 3,210 meters, offers an awe-inspiring sunrise view, enhanced by the stunning Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The unclimbed southern face of Dhaulagiri, and the whole range in a early morning with warmth of sun is an eye candy.

This trek is frequently a part of the more extensive Annapurna circuit trek, but it also serves as a great shorter option for those looking to experience the Himalayan treks of Nepal in a shorter period.

This trek is adaptable, appealing to a broad spectrum of trekkers, from beginners to nature enthusiasts to those who appreciate mountain vistas.

Spring is the best time for this trek, as the rhododendron forest bursts into a magnificent bloom, transforming the landscape into a terrestrial wonderland.

Join us on this special journey to witness a stunning sunrise, lush and blooming forests, captivating mountain views, and so much more.

Highlights of the Place

  • Among the 33 species of Rhododendron found in Nepal, the majority lies in this region
  • The name of the place Ghorepani is derived from Nepali words Ghoda - Pani, (Ghoda means Horse and Pani means water) meaning a place where horses are fed water.
